Well, you have all been great ICT students this semester. I hope you enjoy your break. Remember to get outside and enjoy the one thing we have that many parts of the world don’t have…a pristine environment with loads of winter activities.

Today you can continue to work on your projects…or perhaps continue on with your gaming…consider it a Xmas present from me.

There has never been a class better than all of you at keeping me up to date with your progress. I must say that is commendable. I have a pretty good idea of where you are all at and what time needs to be taken. You have the time, don’t fret, I prefer a project well done than a project rushed. There have been some sweet sounds coming out of the DJs and some great laughs out of the movie makers. The Combos are keeping the mix alive and I hope that I am circulating enough to see what you are up to.

I have been quite excited with what all the Fruity Loop DJs have been discovering…KEEP IT UP…and remember a good track is not laid down in a couple hours…Bassnectar and Hive have both shown me their studios and sometimes it takes weeks to really produce the sound their after. You have spent under a week so far…so stay patient and keep adding layers!

The film crews…I like what I saw out of one group yesterday…what is the other group up to?

Here comes Xmas. Morton 

The groups are clear. 2 groups are making a SHORT movie. The 4 people are making "albums" on FL Studio 9, while 3 individuals have decided to take on the COMBO challenge. I have been relying on Youtube videos to learn more about this DJ software. I encourage you to teach each other whatever new discoveries you make. This software is pretty exciting. Perhaps the SHORT movie groups will need some original theme music?

Have some fun mixing. And the SHORT groups you may be excused from class to do some filming if you have a camera here.

The Fruity Loops 9 program is now completely available and some students have already started rippin’ up some beats….how exciting!!

Those of you that are not doing the Fruity Loops beat mixing, tracking laying…should be making a STORYBOARD for your movie. Then a DIALOGUE SCRIPT, and then of course…START FILMING!!! If you need some guidance with what a storyboard is please ask.

This week let’s get a good start on all these projects…which will be due after the Xmas break. Yes, something for you to work on a little over the break…should make these projects outstanding (pretty much like everything you’ve been doing so far this year).

Remember that post where I said the left side was using Facebook too much and the right side was in the clear? Well…it seems that the left side has pulled up their socks and are actually quite productively working on their new project…whilst the center/right side has fallen behind somewhat. Let’s all pull together for this lovely Friday afternoon.

There have been quite a few people that are not pysched about the SHORT. That surprises me a bit. I suppose the group that has been working with Movie Maker does not want to use that program so soon again. If that is the case then you will have to complete 3 projects in the time that it takes the other members of the class to finish their SHORT. What 3? Voki, StripGenerator for sure and then one of the following Fruity Loops/Excel/Wiki/Freewebs.

Those people doing a SHORT please let me know what topics you are considering.

As well I would like to dedicate a couple classes to showing the movies that have been produced and to playing the RPG games that have been made. We’ll start that next class, yes or no?

Well, after much contemplation on a variety of different possibilites for your next project I have come up with a conclusion. What were all the possibilities I was considering? Wikidot, Freewebs, Fruity Loops, Excel, StripGenerator, Anim8or, Voki, etc…

The Winner? SHORT.

But I do worry that some of you will not be working on the short in our daily classes. Which means that you will required to work on side projects such as StripGenerator when you are not making your movie. The SHORT movie will require a few steps. These steps are essential to making a masterful production. A.The Storyboard B. The Script C. The Movie.

You will be working on A. and B. in class for sure…C. will be both in and outside of the class.

How does this sound? The main point I need to repeat is that this project could cause some people to be unproductive. If I find that is the case then I will have to assign you an extra project like the StripGenerator or Anim8or or how about Excel?

I have witnessed a few students feeling a little bored, true? I am creating the next project…by Monday it will be ready…there are some people that still want to wait until Wednesday, true? And I also would like to spend a class, or maybe even two, playing these new games that people have worked so very hard on.

What is your opinion?

There was a plea for 5 more days. I have been looking around the classroom and for the most part I have been seeing everyone busy working and enjoying their projects. The only thing that still needs work is the number of times I see Facebook open…primarily on the left side of the room. If other classes come in, or other teachers, immediately close Facebook please. As seniors I give you a special priviledge of using it on the side during your projects, however, the younger kids see you on it and they immediately wonder why they can’t be on it. So as long as you can do me that favor I will give you all an extension until Wednesday, Dec. 9th. How does that sound?

The results are in.

By a landslide the winner of this year’s "Rock Your Vote" was Andrew Cyr with 23 votes.

A three way tie for 2nd place with 12 votes went to Oscar, Kaila, and Steven.

Third place with 6 votes was shared between Tasha and Cameron.

Everyone received some votes, so overall a super successful project!

Extension Granted. Most people are happily working away on their individual projects. I have been asked for at least a 5 day extension, does that sound reasonable? Are you happy?
